No list of cozy novels would be complete without Jan Karon's Mitford stories. Although they're often categorized as "Christian Fiction,"  I believe they are simply good stories about interesting people who happen to be Christian. I enjoyed the early books more than the later ones. I've seen many of the Mitford books in mass-market paperback format, which is an inexpensive way to enjoy the books. They're light reading with many a message.
